Research Associate - Development

The Opportunity:

Precision Therapeutics, Inc. (Precision), a life-science company located in Pittsburgh, PA, is committed to improving outcomes of cancer patients. As leaders in the science of individualizing cancer therapy through the use of a proprietary and unique live-tissue platform, Precision develops novel markers to help guide treatment decisions based on the biological processes of each individual’s cancer.

 

The R&D team is responsible for new product and project development as well as on-going process improvements to existing chemo-response marker products.  The incumbent will have primary responsibility for implementing studies on products for prediction of response to chemotherapy in human cancers.

 

The successful Research Associate or Scientist – Development candidate will have demonstrated a track record in;

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a member of a highly skilled, professional development team, this Research Associate will be responsible for contributing to a talented and productive team of Scientists.  Specifically, this Research Associate will be responsible for Microarray or qRT-PCR methods for innovative diagnostic products aimed to aid prediction of patient response to cancer drugs and determine prognosis.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

    • BS/ MS/PhD with a focus in molecular/cell biology, biochemistry or related
    • Position commensurate with training
    • Commercial experience preferred in a field relating to predictive/prognostic marker development

 

Experience:   

Required Skills:

    • Understanding of DNA sequencing, preferably Affymetrix microarray
    • Understanding of DNA, RNA manipulations, preferably RT-PCR
