Laboratory Accessioner / Part Time

The Opportunity:
Precision Therapeutics, Inc. is a diagnostics services company dedicated to providing physicians and patients with actionable clinical information to personalize cancer treatments. We are currently seeking a Part Time Laboratory Accessioner.

Duties & Responsibilities: (Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Responsible for accessioning clinical specimens received by Precision Therapeutics
  • Responsible for the collection of specimens from the receiving room and transporting to the accessioning room
  • Responsible for entering accessioning information into the database, recording atypical or discrepant findings in the system and seeking clarification when necessary
  • Responsible for the printing of barcode labels and attaching to paperwork received during the accessioning process
  • Responsible for the proper handling of associated paperwork
  • Working jointly with the Clinical Laboratory and Medical Records Departments to improve interdepartmental processes and communications
  • Resolve discrepancies in patient data


    Hours – Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Qualifications:

Education / Experience

  • Previous database entry experience
  • Associate Degree or Technical School Degree preferred or
  • Two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the healthcare industry
  • Previous positions in a clinical laboratory or hospital or other health-care setting, and/or experience working with the oncology or pathology departments
  • Knowledge of basic Medical Terminology and Anatomy
