Medical Records Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Medical Records Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of the Clinical Operations team the Medical Records Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: (Include the following: Other duties may be assigned)
- Review pathology and/or cytology reports and extrapolate data for entry into the electronic database.
- ICD-9 coding.
- Verification of information fidelity in the specimen medical record and the electronic database.
- Quality control assessment of test results.
- Review information relating to the correlation of test results and final reports.
- Preparing, proofing, and releasing test results to physicians in a report format.
- Identification and implementation of process improvements to streamline workflow and improve quality control measures.
- Effective interaction with intra-departments to ensure all required, vital information and documentation is acquired in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management.
- Certification and/or eligible for certification RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CTR
- Experience
- Previous positions in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records, tumor registry and ICD-9 coding.
- Experience with oncology, pathology and/or radiology departments.
- Required Skills:
