Clinical Laboratory Technician II
 

The Opportunity:
Precision Therapeutics, Inc. is a start-up bio-technology company located on the South Side of Pittsburgh. PTI assists Oncologists in choosing effective cancer therapies for cancer patients.  We are currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician II to join the clinical laboratory team. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
As a member of a clinical team in a CLIA-certified high complexity laboratory, the Clinical Laboratory Technician II will be responsible for taking a leadership role in identifying and developing areas for process optimization of the current clinical process, and mentoring new employees. The Clinical Laboratory Technician II will also be responsible for performing all aspects of chemoresponse testing, including, but not limited to, preparation of microtiter plates, drug treatment, drug removal, immunocytochemistry, accessioning and processing of specimens, maintenance of primary cell cultures, and operating lab computers for data entry and analysis. Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • AS degree and relevant experience required, BS or MS degree with a major in a natural science preferred
  • Experience:         
    • 1-4 years experience in a laboratory setting
  • Required Skills:  
    • Problem-solver who makes sound decisions
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Accurate and thorough
    • Able to follow instructions and management direction
    • Productive – able to consistently complete work on time or ahead of schedule
    • Well developed and effective communication skills
      • Phone, Documentation, In-Person
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools
      • Project, Excel, Word
    • Must be able to participate in an after hours on-call schedule on rotational basis  as part of the laboratory team
    • Aseptic laboratory technique
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Quality control experience
    • Cell culture experience
    • Experience handling chemotherapeutics
    • Regulatory/compliance experience
