The Opportunity:
Precision Therapeutics, Inc. is a start-up bio-technology company located on the South Side of Pittsburgh. PTI assists Oncologists in choosing effective cancer therapies for cancer patients. We are currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician I to join the clinical laboratory team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a member of the clinical team in a CLIA-certified high complexity laboratory, the Clinical Laboratory Technician I will be responsible for performing various aspects of cell culture, cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and assisting with receipt and inspection of supplies. Additionally, the Clinical Laboratory Technician I will be responsible for processing tissue specimens, maintaining primary cell cultures, immunocytochemical staining and operating lab computers for data entry. The ideal candidate is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a clinical laboratory. This position is best suited to someone desiring to work in a proactive team environment that places strong emphasis on providing accurate and timely information to physicians. Qualifications:
- Education:
- AS or BS degree required with a major in a chemical, physical, biological, or other related science
- Experience:
- 0-2 years experience in a laboratory setting
- Required Skills:
- Problem-solver with ability to make sound decisions
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Accurate and thorough
- Able to follow instructions and management direction
- Productive – able to consistently complete work on time or ahead of schedule
- Well developed and effective communication skills
- Phone, Documentation, In-Person
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools
- Must be able to participate in an after hours on-call schedule on rotational basis as part of the laboratory team
