Clinical Laboratory Assistant
 
The Opportunity:

Precision Therapeutics, Inc. is a start-up bio-technology located on the South Side of Pittsburgh. PTI assists Oncologists in choosing effective cancer therapies for cancer patients.  We are currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join the clinical laboratory team. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a member of a clinical team in a CLIA-certified high complexity laboratory, the clinical laboratory assistant will be responsible for performing various aspects of cell culture, cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and assisting with receipt and inspection of supplies. The clinical laboratory assistant will also be responsible for various other tasks on a day to day basis. The ideal candidate is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a clinical laboratory. Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • AS or BS degree required with a major in a chemical, physical, biological, or other related science
  • Experience:         
    • 0-2 years experience in a laboratory setting
  • Required Skills:  
    • Problem-solver who makes sound decisions
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Accurate and thorough
    • Able to follow instructions and management direction
    • Productive – able to consistently complete work on time or ahead of schedule
    • Well developed and effective communication skills
      • Phone, Documentation, In-Person
    • Must be able to participate in an after hours on-call schedule on rotational basis  as part of the laboratory team
    • Aseptic laboratory technique
  • Preferred Skills:  
  • Quality control experience
  • Cell culture experience
